Resus Room · last updated 14 October 2026

Resus Room is an educational emergency-medicine simulator for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It is free to download, with an optional one-time purchase, the Core Pack, that unlocks six more cases. It has no account, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics and no third-party trackers. This page describes exactly what it stores and what, if anything, leaves your device.

Never enter real patient information. The simulated patients are fictional. Nothing you type or say into the app should identify a real person.

On your device

Your cases, scores, ranks, badges and settings are kept on your device. Deleting the app deletes them. Nobody else can see them, and they cannot be recovered for you.

Microphone and speech

The app listens only while you hold the mic button (or, on a Mac, the space bar). What you say is turned into text on your device; on devices with Apple Intelligence, Apple's on-device model helps read an unclear order. The audio is not sent anywhere. The first time you use the mic, the app may download its speech model (no information about you is sent to fetch it).

Voice recordings (off unless you turn them on). With Save my voice recordings on, recordings of your spoken orders are kept on your device, and leave it only if you share them yourself.

Ask the attending

On devices with Apple Intelligence, questions you ask about a finished case are answered by Apple's model on your device. Nothing leaves the device.

Case logs (off unless you agree)

After your first case the app asks whether to help improve Resus Room. Only if you agree (and you can change it any time in the Voice log), each finished case sends a record of that case to a private log that only the author reads: the orders given (and, for spoken orders, their text and what the app understood), their timing and how they were graded, the debrief, plus the app version, device model, system version and language. It carries no account, name, email or device identifier, and it is used only to find and fix mistakes in the simulator.

Suggestions

Suggest an improvement sends your note, with which case it was and what happened in it, only when you press Send.

Rate this case (only if you press Send)

At the end of a case you can rate it with stars and a few words. Pressing Send sends the stars, your words and which case it was to a private table that only the author reads (kept in Supabase). It carries no name, email or device identifier, and it is never shown on the website.

Email me when new cases are out (only if you sign up)

The same card can add your email address, with the role you choose (for example student, resident or attending), to a list of people who want to hear when new cases are added. It is used only for those emails, is kept in a private table that only the author reads (in Supabase), and is never sold or shared. To be taken off the list, email kltrinh@gmail.com.

The Core Pack

The Core Pack, a one-time purchase, is sold by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles the payment: Resus Room never sees your name, card or Apple Account. The app learns from Apple only whether the Core Pack has been bought, so that it can open its cases and restore them on another device. Refunds are handled by Apple.

Sharing a case

Can you save this patient? shares a link that names the case by a short code — never your score, your name or anything else about you. If the person you send it to has the app, the case opens in it; if not, a page offering the app opens on kimtrinh.github.io, served by GitHub Pages, which keeps its usual server logs.

What is never done

Children

Resus Room is meant for clinicians and clinical students aged 16 and over, and it does not knowingly collect information from children.
